If you want loud, the box needs to be large and ported. And my thinking goes like this, at tuning frequency the port makes all the sound. So the port also needs to be large. Is it large enough when you can stand a 6 x 9 up in the port? The box is also rather large. Now, I always build the box and the baffle board seperately. It makes the build easier and everything goes smoother. I always try to recommend the largest port that will fit in a box, it just works
Almost all my boxes are tuned between 40 to 45Hz, this box is no exception. Tuning on this one is around 40 Hz.
Vented, Ported, Round Port or Square Port its all the same thing. Now AZN is gonna tell me I'm nuts, but I prefer round ports. Now I CAN NOT back up this next statement with proof, but I think round ports are louder. I've built both round and square (rectangular) ports and it always seems to me that the round ones are louder. Let the debate begin. Two ports regardless of shape, with the same cross sectional area should perform the same. So why does round SEEM louder to me??
