Hello, I just purchased an aftermarket In-Dash DVD Monitor with TV Tuner, CD/DVD/MP3/AM/FM Radio, and Mounting Harness for my 1999 300M. I intend to place the motorized monitor in the place of my factory radio, and put the CD/DVD/MP3/AM/FM Radio in the empty slot below it. I won't have any problems mounting it, but I would like as much help as possible with the wiring -It's my first install. Has anyone done this before and could give me some tips? It would be awesome if anyone had a write up about there installation or a guide that would show me how to do everything! ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED. The models that I purchased are below. -THANKS!!

I don't think you will run into any problems. Remember that only one device can be hooked to your speakers, so I will assume that the Radio/DVD player is what will get hooked up to everything. The moniter should only need power, ignition and ground. And of course video in from the Radio/DVD player.

Here is what I would do, Have the remote line from the radio, power a relay. The relay can then be used to power whatever else you need powered. Instead of hooking up the ignition wire to an ignition source (radio/DVD), hook it to the relay. This way the monitor is on only when the radio is on.

Anyway thats what I would do.

That pocket below the radio is also used for an optional In-Dash 6 disk changer. If you can locate the factory mounting brackets for that changer it will greatly simplify instalation.

The wiring part should be the easiest part (except for the relay, but still not hard.). Get a plug like Metra's 70-1817, and wire the radio to the plug. This way the radio just plugs in to your factory harness. (only people who have no clue cut the factory plug off)

The relay (one regular automotive relay) Pin 30 will hook to the yellow wire on the metra plug, pin 85 will hook to the blue wire from the radio, pin 86 will go to ground. Finally pin 87 will hook to the red wire of the screen. ( pin 87 can also hook to any other devices that you might wanna turn on only when the radio is on)

The Motorized screen, Tie in its constant power to the yellow on the metra plug and the black to ground. All that is needed now is the video input to the screen from the radio.

This really should be a simple install. (the mounting part might be interesting. )
