I got me a 'new' car this weekend, a '97 acura EL (basically a civic) and it's got cupholders waay in front of the shifter, deep under the console where there's also a little pocket to hold stuff. How am I supposed to get a regular sized cup in there? The console comes down so low, there's no room! What a waste.
I guess its like in my car. A soda can will fit, but it blocks my head unit from unfolding/folding. Plus if I step on the brakes to hard I imagine the soda would splash right into the head unit. Probably not a good idea
lol... it's minor... but u kinda wonder why they even bothered to put it where they did if there's no room to fit a cup in there "Hammer Time"??? you mean, cut it out? can't - that's where i'm going to put my alpine HU...
I thought the 1.6EL was a Canadian Accord? It's just a little Civic? On my Civic, the cupholder is cool in front of the shifter... You press the top, the lid flips open, and a spring-loaded cupholder pops out! My wife's VW beetle has 4 cupholders... Three of them under the dash just as you describe, that's about all you can fit is a soda can. And the fourth one is on the rear of the center console, for rear seat passengers... at least one of them.
Yup, it's a Civic... akin to the EX model in the US... slightly different though I think... I don't know if I can fit a soda can in there... maybe if you drink half first, then maybe you can tilt it enough to slide in there. My friend's RSX has 5 cupholders.... there's only 4 seats...
There's just no room - I've left the stock CD player in there and put my deck in the slot above the cupholders.... can't cut it out now - then there wouldn't be any place to put the deck
because it's a 1997 model right about that time, the manufacturers were going thru the "how many cupholders can we fit" phase GM was the worst, they had 7+ cupholders in all of their vehicles i did like the drivers side slide-out dash holder in the pickups, very convienent
