    i want to build an enclosure in the bottom of my hatch to accommodate 1 mtx 4512 facing rear @ a 45 degree angle. the enclosure needs to be as shallow as possible so i`ll have to create my lenth & width instead of depth, & i want the driver half in the box with the balance protruding using sauna tube & fiberglass to attach it to the enclosure. Will this odd shape affeect sound waves & create distorton or as long as there is required air space will it still perform ?

    As long as the required air space is present you should have no issues. The only exception to this are areas of LONG narrow spaces. But I am sure you will be just fine...
