But I know that's bad. So I bought a red-top. So what do I do with the yellow-top? Use it as a second battery? Exchange it for a second red-top and use that as a second battery? I never play music with the engine not running so which is the better option: A. The yellow, because it has greater reserve capacity B. The red, because it discharges more quickly and acts like a huge cap. Of course all opinions are welcome, educated or not.
The redtop does not act as a huge capacitor... it just has a higher CCA than the yellow top... both of these are better than a capacitor anyway because they both have actual way to store the energy (reserve capacity) and will help you with sustained high volume music passages... Keep the red top up front and put the yellow by the amps...

He mentioned he does not play with engine off... same type of battery too, I am pretty sure he does not need an isolator...

(psst, he has a red and a yellow top) [/b][/quote] pssst... the internal resistance of these two is the same... psst... they are really the same design... LOL...
