So I haven't been around these parts in awhile. Mostly I've been playing with stuff...

The guts of it all. Full ATX motherboard in a case I tossed together.

Screen is a 7" Xenarc 700ts touch screen vga. molded into my bezel.

I choppedup my console since it was scratched bad anyways to make for a nice spot for a 7 port usb hub upfront.

System is an MSI board athelon mobile xp 2200+ 1.6gig with 512 ram, 160gb harddrive, bluetooth, WiFi, etc.

The realyl cool part is Digital audio-out and my Eclipse has a digital input!

Wow... pretty cool... How come you didn't go with a mini-atx form factor mobo and stuff? Would take up a little less room...

The screen in the dash is cool, but the usb in by the handbrake could be cleaned up a little. :p

    Nice!

    Thanks man,

Umm, yea it's hardly done. THe USB is just soo damn functional, that fornow I really don't care toomuch how it looks, but I will be making an aluminum trimplate for it.

As far as the board goes. the space thing isn't really thatmuch of a deal, that too looks a bit sloppy and rough at themoemnt, it'll be a bit shorter and plexi-encased. it truely doens't take up allthatmuch room. I was going to do the mini-itx thing, but onboard slowproc's and the expense of little things that didn't have much expandability got outweighed by the relatively inexpensive, pure speed, power and expandability. of a full ATX setup. Also I was intending to build a mini board into my center console. and once I started realizing how tight that would get not to mention the pure hassle of having to get into it. I figured hey If I'm gonna use real space and pull lots of wires anyway I might's well have a faster carputer than my home one...

I might end up being pressured into a carputer type of thing...

I am looking for a digital EQ/crossover with adjustable slopes... which are few and far between outside the virtual world.

However, I also need superior A/D and D/A converters, which makes me fear carputer type setups... :(
