    Hi,

I'm looking to get a new head unit, i mainly use my Ipod as my music source so thinking a mechless unit.

I also have an external 7" screen I want to hook up for videos. I really like what i've heard of the Alpine iDA-X305 but apprently they don't play video. The Clarion FZ409 also seems to fit my requirements but I am fearfull of the soft-touch buttons failling (something feels safe about manual knobs)

So anyway all I can find that seems to fit the bill are the Kenwood KVT-BT900 and the Pioneer MVH-8200. (i don't need bluetooth) but i've heard that these two units can be clunky with large ipod data sets...

Can anyone help? am i left to decide only between the kenwood and pioneer or are there other options, also what do people think of these units - which has the better iPod menu system?

    THANK YOU (in advance)

    Tom

Personally, I like Alpine. But given your needs, I think I like the Pioneer. My wife has a Pioneer in her car and it handles the Ipod with no problem.

Now the Kenwood does have a video out, so that you can add another screen somewhere else in the car. That feature alone would make me lean toward the Kenwood.
