Hello everyone! I could really use some help getting my gear right in a 91 K5 Blazer. I believe I have accumulated enough equipment, but the last install seems to have cost me a Poweramper XP2150 and a high dollar copper chassis Premier HU. I want to avoid another costly mistake as the wife won't remain patient with my reliving my youth forever.... I would like to design a system that will drown out the roar from my mud tires and the bass heavy Snoop Dogg that always seems to pull up beside me at a stoplight. What I have on hand: 3 Punch 45s 25 to Life 1 Orion 225 HCCA 1 Orion 225 HCCA (pop top) 1 Orion 250 HCCA (pop top) 4 CDT M6s 2 JL Audio 10" subs(unsure of the part numbers) 2 Cerwin Vega HED 15" DVC 2 Ohm 1 pair MB Quart 6 1/2" + tweeters 1 pair Cerwin Vega 6 1/2" + tweeters 1 pair Infinity 6 1/2" Reference series 1 pair Infinity 6x9s 3 ways 1 pair Infinity 3 1/2" 2 ways 1 pair Infinity Kappa 10.9Ts 1 Pair Clif Design CD78MTs Alpine CDA105 HU What should I use and how should I configure it? thats quite the list of goodies you have there. i would love to get my hands on some old school orions. i bet one orion 225 per sub and the 250 to what ever mid/highs sound good to you would sound great.
Hey thanks, for the kind words Pedro. I have been in Iraq for 18 months now. In my off time I have caught sales clearances, and Ebay items. Not much to do in our down time but surf the web.... What I don't use in the Blazer will probably be put in other vehicles. But If I have a HCCA left over I'll let you know. My last R&R I had 16 speakers of that list run off the XP2150 and it was banging some serious "Teenage Wasteland" then all of a sudden it wasn't. Hideous squeal was all... Didn't have enough time to check it out, before I had to return OCONUS. Ok, so should I scale back on my speaker numbers then?
Hey jonnyv, heck I dunno... Rather do some tradeing... I have some kind of hoarding OCD complex or something. Stuff comes in the door but rarely goes out. You should see my gun collection...lol Gimme 'till around the first of Nov. That will give me time to get home and get all my honey do's caught up, I'll try to PM ya' around then.
