I have a 2007 camry. Front door speakers r 6x9. Apparently the only drop in speakers are the Critical Mass rs69 or ss69. I m not spending $300 for 6x9s. I cant find the mounting depth to look for comparable speakers. Crutchfield says nothing will fit (without mods) except the CM ones. I called edesigns to see if their baffles will fit and they dont know. I could try the edesign baffle but if they are too thick the door panels may not fit correctly. Anyone have any ideas (like 6x9s that are in the $50-80 range and thin enough to let the windows go up and down with no problems) about replacements or know where I can find the dimensions on the cm rs 69 ( i looked around their site but nothing listed, unless i skipped past it). Thanks guys.

Have you called Crutchfield and talked to an advisor? They may have suggestions that aren't in the computer's database. Couldn't hurt to ask.

Sounds like the stock tweeter placement doesn't match any aftermarket locations. Looks like Crutchfield's online solution is to use 5 1/4" or 6 1/2" speakers instead of the 6x9s.

I personally would go with 6 1/2s instead of hacking up a door or paying a fortune for custom speakers. If your budget allows, maybe a good component set. Larger round woofers are generally more accurate than a 6x9 anyway.

Have you checked threads at Toyota nation? There are quite a few threads on this subject.

Another soultion if you want to do some surgery to the speaker itself : http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t142958.html

    GL!
