sandt38, is that your GN? If so, sweet car. For what it's worth, here's a pic of mine (yes, it's the SS, not the car in the background) :
i dont have pics of my sh!tty 97 s10 extended cab, so ill post pics of my dream car. yeah yeah, i know theyre ugly, but there are only 9 of them in the US, and there were only 200 ever made...so i want one. i wanna make a clone though, because i would be hung out to dry if i were to make mods to an original car, so ill be more than happy to pay less, and have a faster car. oh yeah, from the factory--using antiquated turbo technology, the 2.1 liter single turbo i-5 makes 300 hp in stock trim, and is faster than a mitsu 3000gt vr4 or dodge stealth tt...by the time i get done, hopefully 300 hp will be a distant memory. either way, youll never forget seeing me do a 4 wheel burnout in it :lmfao: the first is stock, the 2nd is my PS job of part of what i wanna do. eric
How do you attach pics again? I'm not seeing anything on here like that. Thought there was (according to nismo) :bash:
Yes it is Nick, and thanks (oh, feel free to call me Seth by the way, everybody else does ). Nice ElCo. I got one myself (not as nice, mines just an '81). I am planning on dropping a GN drivetrain into it as soon as funds allow. I am in the process of cleaning it up. I'm planning on an SPL install in it. I got 18 feet of space, and it is such a small cabin . Motor on the GN? over 475Hp and 550 Lb Ft of torque right now. After this winters rebuild I am hoping for ~525-550 Hp and ~600-625 Lb Ft of torque. I wanna get out of the 11s and into the 10s
Pretty sweet Seth. I might be completely talking out of my ass here... but I remember something about them telling you that you needed a cage if you wanted to race down the track anymore. Do you have any plans of doing that? I guess I'll put a crappy pic of my truck up.
Board has grown quite a bit, looks like it'll be a comfy place to stay, might go ahead and pay up after I check the budget tomorrow. I'll get car pics up at that time
You are correct sir . I cannot run at any NHRA sanctioned events with my car unless I put a rollcage in it. I have never run at any event that was not NHRA sanctioned. Having run an SS/DX car in NHRA, I was kept on top of the races that were local. I had to drive the car because my boss broke his leg. It was fun too: That is Lou driving it, not me. I don't have any pics of me driving it. Anyways, I may do some IHRA events on the coast next year just for some numbers. I got this hot girl I talk to on the net who lives there and likes to race her Mustang, so maybe I'll go out there to race. No guys, I don't cheat on my wife, but I sure do like to look . Plans to put a cage in it? Hell no!!! It is a street car. I don't race it enough to justify the cage, besides, cages are gaudy. I drive the car everyday (I have a truck and an ElCo too, but I love my Nat) and getting in and out of a caged car is a pain. It has been about 5 or 6 years since it was at the track last, and after my new test run it will likely be that long before the next trip. I don't do things to compete, I do things for me .
Man Seth, those are some awesome numbers you're pulling from that car right now! I've seen a lot of video's of guys with GN's doing some sick stuff. And everyone that knows better doesn't even think of racing one on the street. Thankfully I haven't come across a GN around here yet. I'd hate to see my BB beaten by a 6-cylinder. We're waiting on a Sean Murphy Stage II carb for my car right now. It runs like total arse currently (crappy remanufactured carb on it), so hopefully this new carb will pep things up a little bit. And oh yeah, it's a 402 big block now, but it is still a completely numbers-matching car despite the boring over. On rolling starts it'll pull the front up BIG TIME! Standing still just lights up the tires even if you're careful with the throttle.
