I just bought two polk audio 12s and they are in a huge box. I have a 2006 chevrolet cobalt. I need to take the back seat out to get them in because they will not fit through the trunk, we have already tried that. I scratched my box all to pieces trying to do that........ Anyone know where the bolts are to take out the back seat???

Just a guess here, look under the front of the back seat, where the seat meets up with the floor area where your feet go, probably 2 bolts, one on either side about where your feet go. if not that, use your knee, press the bottom of the seat back and up, it might be a lock in the tab design.....Or get a sawzall!!!!

I had the same problem on my sable, the box would not fit in through the opening. Depending on the type of box, most of the time the woofers will sit out about a 1/4 inch or more. I removed the woofers and the box went in ok then once the box was in I reinstalled the woofers. A 1/4 inch can be a big deal. as for the back seat, just grab the bottom cushion from both sides and pull straight up real hard, that usually releases the bottom cushion then you will see the bolts for the rear seat backs. just measure the opening first just to make sure it will fit before you go through the hassle of removing the back seat. Hope this helps out.

alright this is pretty much universal on all cars with backseats, this is how it works the bottom part of the backseat has two bolts in the front under the seat so you kinda have to pull up on the seat some to reach the bolts they both should be 12mm bolt and once those two bolts are out it should slide out but you kinda have to fool around with it and should break free, now the next thing your gonna do is feel and look around at the bottom top part of the seat there should be 2 or 3 bolts same size and push up on it and should come right out but there could be more bolts i dont know all cars are diffrent but atleast this will give you an idea on how it works

seriously though, maybe measure exactly how much room you have to work with before buying a box that wont fit. Easier to get a box to fit your car then to get your car to fit your box.
