Okay guys, i was sitting in class last week and i had an idea.....
screw using a headunit in my car....
i thought i would hook up my desktop with all my music on it by using a converter...(which i already have) and from the the line out from the comp run that to my amp (which i dont have yet due to the fact my buddy fried mine).
i think it would all work....
my question is would my computer and my 15inch monitor take a sh** ton of power from my battery and would it be bad for my alternator? and would i have enough power to hook up the 5000 watt boss amp i want to get in the summer?
and my last question is would the computer have a strong enough i guess you would say signal to to my amp to serve as a headunit.....( i dont really know how to word dat lol )

i would appreciate your guys imput before i go and fry my electrical system in my car lol
    thanx

it can work but i would use a screen made for the car. you can get them in touch screens

my only advice is to not get the "5000" watt BOSS amp, it wont actually put out that power.

I wonder if you would be better off building a computer for the car. A power supply like this
    http://www.mini-box.com/M2-ATX-160w-Intelligent-Automotive-DC-DC-Power-Supply
    is designed for the car

A motherboard like the Intel Atom 330 D945GCLF2 might be a good choice for the car

ccullen already mentioned the Lilliput Touch Screen, a good example

I'm gonna do more research into this
