Well....I was in the back of my truck the other day tidying up and I made a discovery.....My power wire coming to my amp is 8 ga. Now, with the way I have been running...no problem, but.......with future plans, I need to change.

What I plan for the completed install is to run two amps....Sub amp and frt. stage amp....rear fill off of HU....

    Sub amp....Kenwood KAC-9152 mono
Frt. amp...Blaupunkt velocity 4 channel...gonna double bridge it to a bigger two channel amp...

I plan to run 4ga. from battery back to the distro....from the distro, send power and ground to each amp with the old 8 ga cable...what size/type of fuse should I use on the battery end of power cable? I plan to use standard automotive 4 ga. power and ground (I have it here readily available)...I am also gonna re-do the other two of the big three with 4ga.

    Does this sound ok??

I'd use the 8 gauge for the highs amp and the 4 gauge for the sub amp...no need for a d block

Well, I already bought a distro...I know I could wire without one, but the cool thing is that it keeps all tidy looking and it is cool...I bought a tsunami one with a volt guage built in....The one I bought handles power, ground and the remote turn on wire....If I ever decide to add a third amp, I can simply just run another lead for each to the additional amp...

ALL current power distrobution blocks felch dog asses. The set screws are too small, the plating is crap, the freeking plastic they mount them too is a joke and the fuses that fit them are lees than ideal. To HELL with this junk they sell nowadays!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my day, when i did a serious sytem, I built my own power distribution blocks.....Solid copper or brass, threaded with 1/4 - 20 bolts or larger, ( up to 1/2-13) The solid stock was milled drilled and made for the applicaion, with NEVER a failure or high current voltage drop........

I need to get into the buisness of making REAL distrobution blocks.....this CRAP they make today is a waste of money.

i would rather use my kids's play doh dried into the shape of a dist. block than pay for a goddammed POS from some chinese overseas company that dont know CRAP about power transfer...........

    BLOW ME CHINA!!!!!!!!!

    rant over.........for now!
