so basically i asked this question before ported or sealed? i used to have a ported wit my old system and liked it and now i have a sealed with 2 kenwood excelon's 300 rms a piece and im not sure if i want ported (or even bandpass???) well i do want it but some people are saying just keep the sealed becuase its better but im not sure please help
it's not really our choice.its what you want really. ported gets you louder with less power.spl sealed for me gave me some nice tight sq bass.not really that loud with the power i was running. 350 watts.sealed was not as loud as it is ported.....in my truck.its diff in every vehicle
yea u really have to be the judge since we are not gonna be listening to it everyday i perfer ported because i listen to alot of rap so i like it to get low and loug plus i like seeing the expression on peopls face when i pull up next to them and thier car is shaking lol
ya well i really liked my old ported box so im thinking i might go with that but theres not really a big downside right oh when i do make the change imma make the change to the correct 2 ohm setup which i dont have now which means my amp is 900 rms(how much is it really since thats the ratin at 14.4 v) so what level shuld i put my amp at to not send just enuff power to get the subs knockin(the level go from .3 which is the highest to like 5 i think which is the lowest)
i would just leave the amp as it is now then. you have a volume control so just turn it down then increase the volume and then tune the amp from there.
hmm u think so? well cuz maybe i'll just see if the new box helps me out and if not then i'll switch my setup cuz its supposed to be at 2 ohms but i have it at 4 but im going to be upgrading to type r's in a few months anyways so i just got to last few a while longer
ya thats why i want to get them lol but this is in a 97 camry also,do you guys think i should use this for removing my inside speakers since i have never done any before Car Stereo and Front Speaker Removal and Installation For Toyota Camry, Car Audio Installation, Car Stereo Front Speaker Removeing Guide ($10)
removing front speakers is fairly easy...on most cars you have to take the door panel off which is all clips for except 2 or 3 screws...and for the back speakers ive never taken any off a car but im sure there is someone here who has...
well i already bought it.cheap compared to what it would have cost some shop to do it and the directions seem to be fairly clear thanks though
sometimes the rear speakers are very easy...just 4 nuts to remove from the trunk. If not then the rear deck carpet has to come out. all of mine i had to remove the back seat...back and butt. the bottom comes out first most of the time...the the backrest. Sometimes there are just a couple of bolts to remove. if not ....To remove MOST bottoms..you will have to get in the back seat and face the trunk..it will help if the front seat is all of the way forward. There should be 2 "clips" one on each side of the car. work you hand under the seat to find them. Then you will need to lift AND push back to the trunk...you will feel it when it comes out of the "clip"..then the other side. The back i easy ...just a couple of bolts then you might have to lift up to release the back from some other "clips".Then the rear deck carpet can come out. this was the same method for Camaro, Corrolla, Sable, Mer. Gnd. Mar. and Volvo. I hope this helps. Plan on this to take an hour or so to get to the speakers.
like dan said.just some clips and screws.unless you have manual windows then you need to get a tool to remove the cranks.its real easy though.
ya well i printed out the step by step directions so hopefully it works good if not they i'll come back on here thanks guy man i really want my type-r's :-[
