I am installing this head unit in my buddy's ’08 Jeep Laredo. My understanding of doing the video bypass is to ground the parking brake. I had the parking brake grounded and the VSS wire hooked up. But once my buddy drove past 10mph it started to alert him and turned off the video output. I figured it was getting this information from the VSS wire so I cut that wire and it’s the same story. I know it has a connection to the ground otherwise he wouldn't be able to adjust the settings. When he starts the car the unit says it has detected improper installation of the parking brake.

I guess it’s getting the vehicles speed from the GPS?

How do I properly bypass the parking brake?

sounds like that hu is too smart to bypass. i have pioneer avh5400, it dont have gps dut i just grounded the PB wire from the hu. looks like some mods would have to be made on the inside of the hu if the gps tells the speed of vehicle. unless they make some kind of chip u can program to it wich i doubt. im not sure. my best guess

I have the same head unit...installed in my 10' FX4, did the same bypass, and having the same problem. once I get to about 10mph the video shuts off with the caution saying video while driving is prohibited. Any, work around yet? Figured the radio has a gyro sensor in it. There has to be a bypass.
