advantage of a bass knob?

    so im deciding between a mono or dual channel amp but the mono amp has a bass knob, which i think could be important for easily adjusting bass level. what's you guys' thoughts or personal experience on that?

    make sure its a true vol knob and not a boost knob. my ed nine.5 will turn the bass all the way off, while my hifonics will only turn the bass down a little not all the way off.
