hey there well basically! im new to this and i need some help and direction.. iv been doing some research and checking out subs and 6x9's.. iv come across a pair of 6x9's which id like to get.. however these 6x9's have been recommended to be used with an amp.. my questions are... 1)why do 6x9s need an amp? 2)do i have to use an amp for these 6x9s? if not then what would be the best method to run these 6x9's to achieve good quality sound? 3)am i able to run 6x9s as well as midds? 4)which would give me better sound with my sub enclosure? (midds or 6x9s)? THIS IS THE LINK FOR THE 6X9s I WISH TO GET PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR THE SPEC AND VIDEO http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vibe-Black...ht_5297wt_1270 THANK YOU ALL THE HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED!!
ans 1.) there is already a mini-amp in the HU which provides a minimal amount of energy to power any set of speakers but the speakers are capable of consuming much more energy(& simultaneously producing even louder music) which cannot be provided by the mini amp in the HU, so one installs the amp to get that "much more energy", after all amp gets the most out of your speakers and not just producing louder sound! (6X9's generally have good bass than the midds when people don't desire to put a subw, you can go for midds as well to suit with your subw) ans 3.) you will need an extra 4-channel amp to power both of your 6X9's and midds OR just buy a 2 channel amp for one of those pairs...I heard that the latter option will create a better soundstage if you power your front speakers with an amp and leave the 6X9s at the back w/out any amp or if you want to put ONLY midds then put 2 pairs and power the front ones with a 2-channel amp. ans 4.)I ain't sure abou this one but midds would be nice if you already got a sub!
