    Precisions Power Ships DCX Subwoofers

May 14, 2003 -- Vista, Calif. - Directed Electronics Inc., a mobile electronics product supplier, has made available its new Precision Power DCX subwoofers. Launched at the Consumer Electronics Show in January, the DCX subwoofers harness the power of the (patent pending) Dual Gap Geometry motor.
"Precision Power has been about 'absolutely state of the art mobile audio™' since its inception," says John Durbin, Directed's product category manager for Audio. "The DCX subwoofer embodies that spirit, and represents an important step forward in subwoofer technology. The incredible linearity of the Dual Gap motor in this application sets new standards for accurate, competition-level bass reproduction, and reflects Directed's commitment that Precision Power will continue to be an innovator and leader in car audio."

DCX (short for Dynamically Controlled eXcursion) subwoofers are some of the most accurate, high output woofers available today, thanks to a sound quality version of the revolutionary Dual Gap Geometry motor. A short voice coil suspended between two magnetic gaps yields an exceptionally flat BL curve throughout the motor's stroke, generating one way linear excursion of 19mm, or a total peak to peak linear excursion of 38mm. This results in a subwoofer that maintains extreme linearity and limits distortion while keeping its cool at power input of more than 1000 watts.
