yup, just got my tax money today and just got home and bought my 4th sub. ooooh i cant wait! i also ran into frankie rio( look him up on youtube) on my way home and he just got a new shop. might just have him build me a box. his daily driver averages high 150's. so i know he can make a box that will pound with my 4 8's.
ok so i found the shop i was looking for and he can do it as soon as i get it. its so on! subs up port back. he said thats how he'd do it and it will be loud. resin the inside and smooth the corners and counter sink the subs and brace it and cover it. 175 is what he told me and that aint so bad. before he finishes it up he'll adjust the port to my taste. if i can get louder deep bass and only raise my db a lil i'll be happy. i'm hoping for just at 140. more would be great but not sure it can with my power level.7~850ish watts. hmm i wonder if he has a clamp meter to calculate my power?
i thought of that before but i only do the 129.9 class. im soo out powered in the other classes anyways. i.e bass boxing. if i can get to a 140 that would be great. im just in it to have fun and take pics. maybe win a trophy or 2. one day i'll step up to bigger subs......... one day.
oh funny thing. the guy thats gonna build my box was soooo blow away with the output of my 3 little 8's that he had to call his buddies out to take a listen. they couldnt believe them either. lol. so 4 of those bad boys should get me at least 1~1.5 db's. also with rounding the corners and counter sinking and all the other tricks 2db increase shouldnt be out of the question. as long as it songs good with music is my only concern.
nice....You ever think about using round ports?? With Aeroports or custom aero ports changing tuning frequency is easy as a few screws or bolts. Tuning can change the peak of the enclosure on the song you use so you can get a higher score...I'd try this pedro so you can have your low loud bass then a high tune for the numbers.
