3 way amplifed system vs. big amp with actives...??

    Aside from the obvious with time alignment what would I really see by adding this pricey gear to my system? I currently have a Soundstream VanGogh 1600/2 running to my Focal Utopia 165w3's and my 136w's...I was debating on junking the existing pioneer deck and getting a P9 with EQ along with 3 amps from either audison or zapco because my Soundstream Davinci isnt available anymore...

    Everything is sound deadened and a lot of time has been put in to this vehicle to give it the best sound possible. Is my Van Gogh amplifier comparable to an audison or zapco amp? By eliminating my deck and xo's will the difference really be worth the 5k its going to cost me?

    You dont want to use the Soundstream amp anymore????? WTF!!!!!!!!!!!


    A 2 channel amp running all those drivers! Nice!

    I personally cannot see why you would want to change it, especially if the upgrade would fun 5 Grand. lessun of course you have money to waste!

    I just want to see if it would really make that big of a difference...because to be honest I am more than happy with the system as it is...I've won two amateur competitions by a landslide and this was without any of my additional work like bquiet'd floors and ceilings that I have now.

    I just ordered two new focal utopia midbass drivers to replace older ones...I think for now I'll wait a lil bit because I'm getting the run around by the local dealers of pioneer premier, the audison stuff is not available anymore aside for ridiculous prices on woofersetc...

    how would you rate the van gogh? would it be worth it to upgrade to the human reign 2 channel??

    I love car audio and doing this set up is more of a hobby that I like to do. My only problem is that im soo competitive that I have to out-do everyone and everything with just ridiculous $$$ system gear.

    I personally dont see any REAL advantage to the upgrded human reign. You have good power and as you say, are kicking ass in competition. why change?

    Some of the best equipment is the older equipment, newer is not always better.....

    i found an older audison vrx 2.400 on ebay (the one with the woodgrain)

    does anyone know if audison has changed anything since that model as far as upgrades are concerned? Also found a newer style 4 channel vrx amplifier that I was considering using to do my midrange and tweets unless just sticking with a seperate amp per speaker would be the best thing.

    any audison reps or knowledgeable audison people let me know what the deal is with this gear.
