viking.. are you getting old? you're starting to seem a little on the cantankerous side . hope you can still take a joke, but on the serious side, I do believe that 95% of all music as crap. that goes for all of them equally. The last cd I bought was a country cd, and probably hard rock before that, and if you're not buying a "greatest hits" cd, then you will probably notice that out of 15 or 18 songs, usually one or two are worth listening to. Hip hop is just like any of them. There is real poetry in some of the lyrics, it's not all about ho's and killing your brothers (although the majority is). just like 95% of country is about losing your woman and your dog just like 95% of rock is about getting messed up and sex, etc.. Sometimes it takes a trained ear to understand what the artist is trying to portray, but that entails listening, and not scoffing. Good hip-hop and rap (and I use that term loosely even though I do listen on occasion) is worth listening to, and tupac was a very good artist. that's enough from me.. I'm getting buzzed now..

Tupac raps about life, real life stuff, all his words are real. Plus I love the bass. The only reason Snoop Dogg got popular is because he survived a shooting, and people started listening to his music, and then snoop went platinum. Tupac died in '96.
