Patents Awarded on Solo-Baric Square Subwoofer Technology

November 26, 2003 -- Stillwater, Okla. - Kicker has been awarded patents on its breakthrough square-subwoofer technology. Stillwater Designs, the maker of Kicker products, will now be actively pursuing the protection of these patents. Included are utility and design patents covering the square subwoofer and related schemes.
"The challenge in creating the square subwoofer was not only the square shape, but how to make the shape work," said Steve Irby, Kicker president and founder. Solo-Baric subwoofer technology increases output enough to give users virtually equivalent performance of the next-size larger round speaker.

The Solo-Baric L7 debuted at the 2000 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas following three years of design work, and the 2002 edition of the Solo-Baric L7 featured a number of performance improvements for increased output and durability throughout the line. Several models of Solo-Baric subwoofers have been the recipients of prestigious AudioVideo International Autosound Grand Prix Awards since 2000.

Kicker Solo-Baric L7, Solo-Baric L5, and SoloX Series subwoofers are available at authorized Kicker dealers worldwide.
