JBL to Lead Mobile-Sound Clinics in Top Cities

June 24, 2003 -- Woodbury, N.Y. - Be prepared to get an education in everything from subwoofer enclosure construction to amplifier installation, direct from the pros.
JBL®, a leading provider of superior mobile audio technology and equipment, announces the cross-country 2003 Engineered Mayhem Tour, featuring world renowned car audio superstars, Gary Biggs and Mark Eldridge. Legends in mobile sound competition circles and in the car audio installation industry, with numerous world championship titles to their credit, Biggs and Eldridge will share their technical expertise and new JBL amplifier and subwoofer technology with dealers, installers and enthusiasts.

Clinic attendees will learn about custom installation techniques, with a focus on custom fabrication, system tuning and JBL¹s revolutionary new approach to subwoofer system design. The four-hour mobile sound clinics will take place at JBL dealerships nationwide.

"The 2003 Engineered Mayhem Tour will appeal to car audio enthusiasts of many levels, from longtime JBL dealers to new ones, and from installation professionals to hobbyists, anyone who is passionate about car audio," said Christopher M. Dragon, director of brand marketing, JBL Mobile Systems. "The expertise and enthusiasm of Gary and Mark, in conjunction with the engineering horsepower of JBL, make for a powerful combination. These clinics are designed to significantly raise the bar on high-performance car audio amplifier and speaker installation techniques and service to dealers and consumers alike."

In addition to installation techniques, product performance and troubleshooting, Biggs and Eldridge will provide valuable information on turning custom installation into a predictable and systematic process one that results in amazing car audio systems.

The clinics will take place in a classroom-like setting where Biggs and Eldridge will demonstrate custom fabrication, enclosure construction, amplifier installation and system tuning; audience participation will be encouraged. Biggs, who likens the seminars to a mobile driving school, said the one-of-a-kind mobile audio seminars are for anyone who has an interest in making a car¹s stereo system sound better.

"I¹ve been an avid JBL fan forever, so the opportunity to promote the brand to car audio enthusiasts through a road show like this is extremely exciting," Biggs said. "One aspect of car audio competitions that Mark and I enjoy most is being able to bounce ideas off one another in order to get better at what we do. Sharing our knowledge with others through the Engineered Mayhem Tour is a real privilege."

The 2003 Engineered Mayhem Tour kicked off on June 12 at Car Toys in Aurora, Colo. The tour will also stop in the following areas, with more locations to be added throughout the year.
