I got some 12" Alpine Type-R's, they sound good, but I think I blew one of them out, and Im already thinking about just getting a pair of 15" inch subs, id like to say in the $250-300 dollar price range and I usually find good deals on subs around my area, so I can probably find some good subs, I just need to know what to look for really, I got an Arc Audio 900.1d, 900 watts RMS x 1 ohm, that will be the amp I will want to use to push the 15's... Someone I know has a pair of Kicker L5's in a ported box, asking $500 or best offer, are these good subs?

No l5 is crap and your amp you need some lower wattage subs probably..idk how you would blow two type rs with that amp unless distortion played into it....

Yeah, im not sure if I blew it or not, ill have to double check, and you said my amp is not enough power for 2 15's?? its 900 x 1 is 450 watts RMS for each sub, so 2 15's with 500 watts RMS a piece should be fine.. thats kinda what im lookin for, i also got a boss amp but its not 1 ohm stable and only 750 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms so yeah Im going with the Arc Amp because its a mini beast and pushes some true power out

I use JL audio 15W0V3, they sound great in a sealed box at 1.875 or a ported at 2.75, RNS=500watt but dont push it all the way in the ported box. and they are $179 each

and the only thing I would use a BOSS amp for is to stand on to reach my REAL amp up there on the shelf.
