looking for recommended specs for Cerwin Vega

    my son just bought a sunfire with a junk enclosure& crappy looking 12" sub, but when i pulled the driver out of the box i see it is a Cerwin Vega vmax 12. Basket side looks nice, however i will have to redo the foam surround as it is chewed up pretty bad.
    i am looking for recommended specs on the enclosure & whether or not it should be ported.Typically he listens to new hardcore screamo with the techno influence (Asking Alexander) so not sure how it should be tuned.

    I don't know if you've found your answer yet, but here's a link to the specs on that sub. I have a Vmax 124 on the way, and I spoke with the tech guys at Cerwin Vega, who told me the sub needed a 2.5 cu. ft. ported enclosure with 30 square inches of port surface area, 22.38 inches deep.
