As the title ses. Any one ever use SPL amps. Iv beedn looking at the SPL Z1X-2400D 2400 watt amp stable at 1 ohm and it will be pushing two kicker 12 L5's. I'm kinda of a poor guy so no experimenting for me. I just need a strait up yes or stay away from them answer. Thanks.
never used one, never even heard of them. I looked it up here......http://ampguts.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=7337&title=spl-z1x-2400d-inside&cat=1852 It appears to be of OK quality. Nothing like a state of the art design. Will it work for you? Ya, probably. But like anything else, i would not abuse it. Would I buy this amp if on a tight budget? Not right away....keep shopping around and keep this one on the back of your mind....just my 2 cents
ive seen one or two in use at the many shows i go too. i want to say they are close to or the same as power acoustik. wire it up properly, with the proper electrical necessary to power it and it should do just fine. but as stated by viking, keep looking. what is your budget for a sub amp and wiring? if you want a good cheap powerful amp? then look in to the audiopipe 1800 mono amp. they will power those subs well. i know a few folks that compete with those amps and play them daily. just a thought if you want cheap AND powerful.
Well it will be powering two kicker 12 L5's 600 watt rms each. And as far as mu budget, I'm saveing 50$ every two weeks and I just started saving. So the higher the amp the longer I have to wait be for I get it. Its already gona be a wile cause I have to save for the second l5 Here is my other option. I already have a 1000 watt sony xplod pushing on kicker l5 so I could get another xplod and push the new l5 I'll be geting soon. But I would rather have a single amp. What do yall think
Yeah i think spl is on the same level as like power acoustik or soundstream, not great but not the worst stuff either, it should work for you.
what about this amp http://cgi.ebay.com/POWER-ACOUSTIK-OVN1-3000D-3000w-MONO-AMPLIFIER-AMP-KIT-/350427164131?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item5197162de3
I have (going to have) 2 kicker l5's 12" 2 ohm. will most likely be wiring to a 2ohm load cause there are hardly any amps that wire to 0.5 ohm load and those that do are not so cheap. so could some one tell me an amp for those two subs for under $200 prefer around $150
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7413_SPL-Z1X-2400D.html theres the spl amp. check that site out, good buys sometimes.
you ever try used or thought http://www.caraudio.com/forums/car-audio-classifieds/499604-mojo-2000d-drastic-price-drop.html http://www.caraudio.com/forums/car-audio-classifieds/498989-audiopipe-30001d.html Sorry its just in your price range these amps will do what you want and then some it all depends your negotiating skills and time will tell you said you had to save there will be plenty of amps in that time you will run across.
that looks remarkebly like an MA audio amp, are they related? as far as quality they look meh, i think power acuostic was a good comparison. i'd say it'd do fine but i'm not sure how clean that power is, but if you want the power for spl than their you go that'll certainly be loud. why dont you try this one http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_23874_MB-Quart-ONX1.1000D.html it'll be just as loud as a dirty 1800 watt rms amp, but with 1000 clean watts and in the same price range
im actually looking at the SPL gorilla series amps, specifically the 1800/2 to power two 12 R.E. Sr's. Its between that a few others. But if i were in your situation id take that spl amp over the power acoustik one.
This thread is dead lol. But I am battling it out between PA and audio pipe. Thinking about the AP but still not so sure. My price range jumped a little bit (50 bucks) but hey, I can get quite a bit more for $50. But I'm still looking. But seriously, let thi s thread go.
I would go with audio pipe just bought a ap30001d its 30 inches long gonna sell it on craigslist for like $350 lots of people don't like the internet Theres a guy who benched tested on 16 volts it was pushing well over 4000 watts power acoustic, spl, soundstream, and precision power or ppi I think are owned by a parent company called epsilon elctronics.
