I dont know what is going on in your part of the country, but window tinting seems to be under attack here in the Atlanta area. I have done more retints making cars legal here in the last year than I have done in the past 3 years total. Maybe it is because all the depts are running out of money or are broke and are trying all they can do to generate revenue. Anyone notice this in your part of the country?

As far as the tint thing, we have to get a safety inspection on our vehicles every year. The driver and passenger windows are checked and if the tint is to dark, no inspection sticker. But its been that way as long as I can remember.
over here in the pacific northwest, they have far bigger fish to fry I have illegal tint and no one has ever said anything about it. Even when getting pulled over for other infractions. Most the cops here don't even enforce it because, all you do is rip it off, go show the judge, and then go put it back on.
ive noticed that here i live in north carolina and ive been stopped multiple times for something stupid and they check my tint but my tint is legal so they always let me go with a "warning" for whatever they pulled me for.
texas re did their law a fear years ago and made it to where all sides must be no darker than 30% and the back can be whatever, used to the back sides could be whatever. I had 2.5% on front sides and 5% on the rest for about a year before i got my first ticket.
