Determining fuse size in amp?

Discussion in 'Car Stereo Amplifiers' started by wrathofthesun, Mar 2, 2009.

  1. I ve got an amp that doesnt have a fuse in it and owners manual doesnt list its size. How do you figure out what size fuse it takes?

    VR354
    Key Features
    Amplifier Type: Multi Channels
    Bridgable: Bridgable
    RMS Power at 4 Ohms: 30 W x 4
    RMS Power at 2 Ohms: 70 W x 4

Is there a formula for determining this? Help please:confused:

Also need to know to determine in line fuse size and distribution block

I calculated 30-35 amps...depends on what load you wire to the amp...if you have a 4 ohm load on all channels a 15-20 amp fuse will be just fine.
