I got an E-Mail last night from the Founder of therangerstation.com. It States Dear Member, I appologize for this email. I don't normally email the members but this is an emergency. Today, (December 9, 2008) I received a letter from the law offices of Howard, Phillips & Andersen that represent the Ford Motor Company. Ford is forcing us to surrender the name 'therangerstation.com' to them and stop using it. Ford states that using the name 'Ranger' when used in reference to the Ford Ranger is a trademark violation. In addition they are wanting me to pay them $5,000. As you may know, The Ranger Station has been around for the past 10 years and has been a valuable resource to Ranger enthusiasts. If Ford does this to us, where will they stop? I have 10-days to surrender the name and pay them $5,000. I'm asking that you contact Ford online and ask them to reconsider making us change our name and prohibiting us from using the word 'Ranger'. What could Ford be thinking? How many loyal customers will they lose by attacking fan websites? Personally, I will NEVER buy another Ford if this is what I can expect from them. Your opinions please

Ford and therangerstation.com has come to an agreement. It appears that therangerstation.com has a huge following and it got alot of support from the online community. http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32875 All I can say is "good for Ford", they made a good choice.
that's terrible but typical. I own a ford but not for long (hopefully) and i would never buy another ford again. how could they even consider doing that?
At least they reasoned with everyone. I'm a ford guy at heart mostly because my father swears by em and we restored a 65 mustang. Ford is the only American car company still worth a damn.
Was...seller was a douchebag and was asking way too much for it. booked for only 5K...he was wanting 6.5k because it had "aftermarket rims and intake and shocks"...I told him i don't give a sh!t about those and not paying for them.
Ford aint that bad, some of the older cars have Mazda engines and chassis, like the 92 GT, i read that they even feoa.com got a threat from them.
negatory bgmike some mazda's have ford parts... like their SUV's and pick ups... and back in the day more of their cars... not the other way around.
nope the 92-96 ford escorts have mazda parts. some even the engines and not just that i know some pickups do to...the newer mazdas have ford parts, ford now owns mazda...
well it must've been mixed parts cause some guy on a ford forum I was on was having troubles with this one mazda like a 93 and he said alot of his parts had ford stamping on them and he had pictures... just too lazy to find it now. I like Ford things are getting rough all companies are doing odd things to get money.
well its never all completely mazda on ford cars. it sucks for all these sites getting threaten just for money.
