Tonight I was on my G-body forum, as usual, and they have a thread that is discussing their opinions on global warming and enviromental preservation. you know, with the battery cars and all that bullsh**. I will get it started, i am an Anti-Enviromentalist. here is why, I think global warming is a bunch of crap. why are there fossils of tropical plantlife and animal life in Antarctica? I think the Earth goes through cycles between hot and cold. now the ozone, that one is just simple, and kinda funny. The holes have always been there because everyone knew we were gonna have cows and fart so we have holes to let the fumes out, like a bugjar. lol now your guys turn. Oh, and Hybrids... F*** them, id rather pay $5 a gallon than drive one of those hunks of junk!
Ok i have a few questions for you jonny. What is the Ozone layer and why is it important? Since the polar ice caps are melting at a record pace, what happens when all the ice melts? Where is all that water going to go?? What do you think of clear cutting of the rain forests in South America? Do you dump your used motor oil into the ground or do you take it to the auto parts store? What is your best choice for an alternative fuel besides fossil fuel? Do you know the byproduct of hydrogen power? Dont worry im not a tree hugger but I love a good debate....
who cares if "global warming" is increasing the rate at which everything is melting. its going to to ****ing happen anyways. im with you jonny, im sick of all the hype.
Ok, lets think of the time span of when the earth was created up til now. Think of it by using your wingspan: If you extended your arms out to either side, that is the earths life. The first trace of complex life on our planet was approximately 1 billion years ago. So, complex life would be about as long as one hand. The time period that humans have been around would be about the length of your fingernail. We don't know what the **** happened from your first hand all the way up to the end of your other other hand. What is happening right now is nothing compared to the ice/heat ages in the past 6 to 7 billion years of earth's history. To us, the fluctuation is large, but in terms of earth's climate history, its minute. The only reason there are any living things on earth is because the climate, for a split second (in terms of earths history), is at the perfect temperature. From what we know about earth's life, there could have been life before us, possibly several times. What we are seeing now is only a couple of degrees change... anywho, the earth is due up for another major climate change. Its just the earth doing its thing.
hmmmm so kinda like seasons but with millions of years between them. yeah i can follow that. so we are going thru the beginnings of summer.
wow i am so freakin happy that you guys actually understand whats going on, im so used to people that have had "global warming" shoved down their throats and then spew it back up.
well, idc where the water goes,if i drive a boat to school, o'well. its gonna be my cutalss on a boyant platform with a bigblock chevy+blower on it. so screw global warming. lol i love this topic tho.
Well the "record" deletions are just that. They only began monitoring the area in 1972 and in 1979 in satellite. that is only 29 years of monitoring. Get back to me when we've been doing it for 100 years. There is a different between being energy conscious and overkill tree hugger. Global warming. Possibly... Global warming to the extent that gore said, hell naw, he is using ridiculously outdated facts. However, I do agree with the fact that it is like seasons for the earth. That is a possibility, there is some good evidence going around a while ago that said that there is proof that it goes through cycles, it's really late and I really don't feel like looking for it right now, but stay tuned because it will be posted sooner rather than later.
nice one jonny. i just like to look at it as we're not just getting warmer we're simply still coming out of the last ice age.
