so i blew my l5 today, pumping way to many watts to it, i played a100hz-20hz sweep and then smoke starts pouring out of the box. copper wire came offf of the what ever it is.

any way, i have a custom built box for it, 2 cu. ft tuned to 33 hz.

three hundred bucks to spend on new one.

my main question is how do they hifonics atlas and kicker l7 compare? i kind of want to stick to a square sub so id ont have to rebuild the box.

i could also put a new top on it, for a round sub, which do you guys reccomend. SPL is goal..

    powered by a hifonics 1505d 1500x1 1 ohm 1000x1 at 2 ohm 500x1 at 4 ohms

I honostly would go with the L7 in my opinion. I was trying to get some reviews on the Atlas and the few I could find were not very promising. From what i get they can get louder than L7s but are not reliably for a daily driver. So thats just what I found.

Yes get a L7 and then when/if you do tell me what you think of it. I'm planning on getting one of these in a a little over a month. The only bad thing bout the square subs is that you have boxes for square subs only cant just stick in another pair of subs you got laying around. What size sub did you have?

L7 12s can take 1000 watts rms daily if the power is clean and in a proper enclosure.

how was your gain and boost set???
