So what do you think, that amp actually works well, doesnt it.

I would have never thought that I would recommend a Power Acoustik amp, but the PS2 series seem to be tough. We,ve sold well over a couple hundred and only 2 failures, the last one because stupid(the customer) turned the bass boost and the gain all the way up.

We warrantyed it ( we are nice guys ) but we hot glued the gain control, this one will live a long and happy life.

so what of the LT series amps from power acoustik.i have 2.i liked them, but do you think they put out close to rated power?

    LT980 560x1 mono 4 ohms

    LT960 100x4 rms 4 ohms. my M44 blows it away.and its rated at 40x4.

i guess i answered my own question.

I actually like this amp...a lot. And for the price it is a killer deal.

I'm selling my MB Quart amp once its fixed and selling my W4.

Getting a PS2-820 and a Dayton Quatro 15 incher....4 cu ft box tuned at 40Hz with two 6 inch diameter round ports.

I wanna show people what a cheap(price not quality) amp and a sub that no one has ever heard of can do....accoring to WinISD the response curve is close to my old box but should be louder...old box peaked at 50Hz...this box peaks at 47Hz but at 50 Hz is 1 db louder.

Ranger you think a sub firing back and the ports firing driver side will be loud?? Its like the smaller box you designed me but with round ports.

Sorry for going off topic...but hell no one cares. We're still helping out

I really like round ports, and in most installs I prefer round ports. Large square ports tend to work better with lots of power and volume.

It will be OK coming out of the side, if your talking about that box for the 15, I would recommend at least 1 6-inch or 2 4-inch for best performance. Also it needs to come out at the driver side and the woofer needs to be on the passenger side facing the rear of the vehicle (I think we've had this conversation before)

I have only Dealt with the PS2 series amp so I don't know

Well I designed this new box with TWO 6 inch round ports.

Well the ports are 19 inches long each

I was thinking again.....The only reason I made up the plans for the side firing ports is because of box depth....but I COULD redo the plans for the ports to be on the same baffle as the Dayton but the box would be deeep...

so it would basically be half of my cargo area (passenger side) a box with the woofer close to the tail gate, Would this be louder than an off axis port???

I was thinking about this because it would leave room for me to build an amp rack and room for another battery

Big Deaner sorry for the thread jacking

Ah....I see some Q Power wiring kit. Good wire

    Q Power 0 gauge is a lot bigger than Stinger 1/0 wire...I don't like stinger...overpriced crap
