We just bought an FJ cruiser, and I've got some old equipment I want to use,2 Soundstream D200's,2 D100's ,2 Class A 50's a DX3 crossover an Audio Control EQL. I also have a 308 HU, but I want to use the FJ's HU.can I do this and change from speaker level out put to RCA without losing SQ?I have no intention of using the fader ,just RCA to the EQL then to the DX3 then to the amps all initial adjustments done thru the soundstreams and EQL using an old Ivy 10 or an SA3050 anallizer.

That JL thing will work.....so will an audiolink PL2 hi-lo convertor......

Thats some good old equipment you got there! I worked with Soundstream for years. Very nice sounding and fairly reliable stuff.

Do you have an IVY anylizer? I used to have one personally years ago and the dammed internal battery went to crap and ruined half the boards in that thing.....Was a handy meter.

I always prefered the IVY .It seemed more like the human ear.It wasn't as accurate as the 3050 ,but I felt that cars set up with the IVY sounded better.Curves set up with the 3050 looked great but I didn't like the sound. The HU in the Toyota is a single disc plays MP3and WMA,the CDN one has 3.5's in the dash,6x9's in the doors and tweeters in the headliner

The 3050 doeas a fine job actually. I always used it to identify the problem areas. Then adjust the curve as needed for a good sound by ear. ( I take great pride in being able to tune a system by ear )
