i have this bass check cd thats is a competition cd and when it hits the highs my stock speakers make this like ticking/rattleing noise and their not blown if i was too get new 3 way speakers would the problem stop o is it something else
If you are running a sub with the system, you might want to cross over the factory highs with some passive x-overs to eliminate the voice coils of the speakers from slamming into the bottom of the magnet structure.... This is not a good thing.
what is a cross over and i am running an amp with 4 subs connected with a 2 farad capasitor if that helps
i have a jvc cheapo head unit i have the bass blockers wired from tha head unit too the reg speakers front and doors ect... i have a 2 farad capasitor and it is ran too a 300 watt insignia amp best damn 300 watt i ever heard sounds as good as a 1000 watt for some reason with 2 12" JL subs and 2 10" pioner subs and it has the basic walmart scosh wire kit powering and rc wires
do you have your bass turned all the way upon your radio? with out a real good crossover on your factory speakers they will keep "bottoming out".popping.like you said. try turning the bass down on the radio and see if you still like the sound of your bass.
they do it when just about any cd is in but with the bass comp cd is in its way more noticable since there is no voice and treble too tha cd
Can you VISUALLY watch the speakers when this happens? Are you sure its the speakers and not just ANOTHER problem causing them to "pop"???? And do al the speakers do this at the same time or is just one or two of them?
are all the speakers doing it or just one set.front or rear? if its the rear then the air pressure from your subs can make them bottom out. if not then turn your bass down ALL the way.or get a good crossover.
i dont think theres a factory amp its a 92 astro van luxury extended edition im sure its the speakers and im not sure if the rear ones do it but pos front are cause when in rear your near the subs and thats all you hear
