    And R/C aircraft.........

Nice job on the speed record joe!!!!!!!!! Thats faster than anything I have in my hanger!!!! My slowest is a sig 2 meter class sailplane, and my fastest is an old Ultrasport 60, although ye to be flown!!

I am interested in the carbon fibre for wing renforcement along the main spar, of course you know what I am refering too!!!!! Just small quantiies for extra strength....

    ass mmonkey............

i might actually like this retard!!!!!!!!!

Nothing in particualr at this time, but what i was thinking of was the cub i am building, it has yet to be covered and I would not mind seeing a little more strength under the main spar. its a great planes J3, .60-1.20 size if i remember right, i have a saito 90 4 stroke to shove in the cowl.....not looking for stellar high g manuvers, just the added strength for those "whoops, to low and too fast gotta pull up REALLY fast moves!!!! )......

You should be fine putting some carbon tow top and bottom. I could give you some of that. I probably have enough to wrap around the earth. Whats the wingspan? Do you have any resin?

For those of you who are into anything r/c and dont know about " r/c groups" here is a link. It is a forum formatted exactly like this one except there are people actually using it. It has tons of info on anything r/c. I frequent the Dynamic Soaring and Slope forums mostly. I will share some good video links soon. Check it out!

To give you an idea, I just checked and 2753 people are logged on right now. This forum has 168 currently and 164 of them are LURKING!! C'mon guys!

Couldn't be that more people are inerested in r/c than car audio? Could it?

Its about 6 foot in its span...

i have polyester resin, and of course epoxy, what would you reccomend to use with Carbon Fibre?

Epoxy resin. You could get away with 30 minute if you had to. I reccomend not using polyester. Is it a built up wing or sheeted? A lot of those planes wings flutter at high speeds and a bias cloth would fix all that. if you are just worried about the wing bending then tow will suffice but if you want torsional strength then you might have to do both.

Its a built up wing, using the (crap, cant remember the name of it) fabric type shrink covering..............

I am not too worried about any issues with flutter from the wings or any control surfaces, its just a Cub, more for slow leisurely flights, And the added insurance would make me feel better, and besides, i have always wanted to try carbon fibre, figure since it is still in the sonstruction stage, it would be a good time to do it.

Im assuming you haven't covered it yet. Were you going to use solartex? I can send you some tow or something better. Let me see if I have something in the shop and well get you fixed up. You will need some epoxy and a 3" paint roller to wet out the carbon.
