It was announced today that the jury decided to give Zacarias the punishment of life in prison rather than the death penalty. Thoughts, comments, concerns?
I think he'll be lucky if he's in there for two years before he "mysteriously dissapears". I know that guys in prison are criminals and all, but they're americans, and a lot of them will be there for the rest of thier life, so what have they got to lose by tacking on 50 more years to a life sentence? They have cable in prison, and the whole house full of murderers and rapists are gonna know who this guy is when he comes strolling in the door. I hope they put him with the rapists for at least six months before they introduce him to the murderers
Exactly. Although he was saying he would prefer a life in prison, it was obviously a cheap attempt at reverse psychology. He has earned himself 50 years of beatings and torture, along with a$$ pounding galore. They said he is going to be in isolation the whole time but I find it hard to believe that the guards dont have other plans for him. A death pentalty would have been a very easy way out for him and I think the jury fully knew that. He is probably scared to death right now, after all we fear the unkown the most.
