You will know my internet connection sucks in my Bill this month Comcast notified me that staring in Jan 05 my Bill will be going up 3%, this is the 2nd rate hike this year alone.. so fuck um You guys talked me out of DSL before, but I am taking the risk now so I can tell scamcast to take a flying leap of a very tall building.... so Monday after work SBC will be getting a new Phone/DSL customer and Comcast will be losing a Internet customer then once the Internet is up and running I will get Dish Network to come out and Install my Dish, so if I am not heard from you guy can tell me "I told you so"
I have DirecTV and I love it... I'm sure the Dish Network is comparable (but I know DirecTV won that whateveritis industry award for customer satisfaction). One thing I don't like about DirecTV is that they HAVE a high-speed internet solution, but it's something like $60/month IF you buy the hundreds of dollars of receiving equipment up front... or it's $99/month if you don't. I'd go DSL if I could get THAT for less than $60 currently here... I'm waiting. :ranting:
Dude, I just made the switch from SBC to comcast, and to tell you what, SBC is the worst fuckin company in the world to deal with, EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Comcast, I'm never on the phone more than 15 minutes, SBC, I'm never on the phone with them less than 45, adn it's normally every other month, those fuckers. And, they decided to raise my bill $20 the last month, when I cancelled, and got comcast. How often has Comcast increased rates, 3% seems nominal, shit, I think inflation's near that, isn't it? Is it really that big a deal, mike? Cause, honestly, I had SBC, they sucked balls, right down tehre with sprint.
dsl problems are alway related to the distance you are from the CO, I am under 5,000 ft from my CO so problems should be small.... as far as SBC here, I have delt with them before and had no problems with the customer service, but I hardly deal with the CS people anyway... Comcast just raised the Rates in March, now they are doing it agian My Bill is now $120 a mo, Fuck that shit I can get the same service for $75 by switching

You can't beat a dish when it comes to pay TV... They are, bar none, the best. I hate dealing with the constant price hikes for cable TV. But the cable internet services are coming down in price. They have dropped $7 in the last 2 years... that may not sound like much, but if you do the math, it is 7% per year (figure $3.50 less per month drop each year off a $50 a month bill). But I say fuck DSL. I hate it. Why not run your internet through cable and your TV through the dish? Oh, Chris, my understanding is download times on the sattelite internet services are at the speed of DSL, but upload times are extended and closer to "high speed" dial-up (what is that like 104 kbps or something). I am not entirely sure how true that is, but it is what a friend of mine who is pretty savvy told me.

Now it is $42.99 that is not down in my Math :no: :no: :no: :no: $57.99 if you dont have Cable TV DSL is $26.99/$36.99 depending on your Package, if they Offered a LOWER speed plan (1.5mbps) I would go with it but they dont, only the 3mbps which I dont need anyway.. Aslo I if you had DSL at your Current Address it looks like the Nearest CO to you is appox 40,000 feet away from you which would explain your problems with DSL DSL does not work well past 18,000 ft..... I am ALOT closer so ****I hope**** will not have those problems
Well I did it SBC Phone will be on Nov 30th SBC DSL will be on Dec 10th Dish Network will be installed Dec 12 Fuck Comcast Breakdown for me now Phone Service $21.21 DSL ------------- $26.95 Dish 60 w/DVR -- $34.97 Total Bill -------- $83.13 that is about what I was Paying with Comcast a few Months ago, if they would not try and rip me off I would still be with them, soo sory about there luck
You just did the SAME thing i just did, canceled cableone. had phone line installed, then dsl and finally dish. however my bill is a little more cause i pay for the 120 package plus hbo and skinimax. plus dvr. so with dsl and all i pay like 100 i think. btw your mothly phone line price can be 10$ if you get limited access put on your phone, i did cause i NEVER use my landline, only my cell. limited, limits you to like 10 outgoing calls a month, but unlimited incoming. Thats from SBC same provider i have, if you have any problems, go here www.broadbandreports.com SBC has a special forum (private) that you can get tech support in, that way you dont have to call the tech guys over in china.
I use Braodboandreports all the time I am "the_ancient" on that site, Been using the site since the @home days when it was only DSLreports... only been posting on the forums though for a short time. my only problem is the Limited line is Long Distance, I use the Phone 1 time per week to Fax in my Service Report for Work and schedule (2 phone calls to area code 425, 1- Thur, 1-Fri.) but hopely when we go all electronic and get our PDA's in march that wont be a problem, so then I will have to look in to the limited access line....
