    Read my edit. :)

BTW, I know I'm late on the reply, but I didn't notice it until today. Wrong is still wrong, even 2 weeks later.

Another good testament to the fact you just don't know that much about me eh?

Look guys, I've seen a HD mid and an eDi mid, the two are obviously NOT the same. Infact if my friend hasn't yet installed his HD's, I'll go grab 'em, and take a pic of the difference...

Either way we're beating a dead sheep here. I've strayed from the flock, and I'll be attempting to help others make their escape. Everyone can either get over it, and deal with it, or if eD REALLY wants to make amends I'll gladly make it public as well if they chose to change their minds and do the right thing. But, incase you didn't notice, I'm trying to move on here, STAY THE HELL OUTTA MY THREAD!

okay, just looked at those pics, and that is odd, the HD's that my friend has don't look like that. Perhaps they are just older or something? butyes, I seem to recall statements being made that the magnets/suspension and cones were "tweaked" or whatnot, and what I've seen seemed to have backed that up. If I'm wrong, I apologise, but *shrug* so I guess I'll not be buying CDT stuff either... My next speakers are looking to be along the lines of adire/focal/boston anyway, (speakers I've actually I've heared and like, not to mention from companies that I trust)

All the obscurity, etc. I REALLY don't want another argument/discussion I'm really just trying to sort out my new eDouched setup here. I've gotten my insight as to the type of operations run there, and that's that. Like I said, they could still choose to make it right, but I really doubt that's going to happen.

So back to what I was asking, will having a port opening that far seperated from the driver itself adversely effect my performance? Ideally, I'd have it on the same face as the sub, but in this situation that's not really an option. Also, how "thick" does an external port need to be? Would I still need 3/4" wood, or would 1/2" work? obviously in this case, that extra 1/4" means 1/2" higher on my floor and I want to keep as much available space in every dimension as I possibly can.

Ignoring questions and concerns your customers have all over the boards says enough about your person... I'm sure we can fairly accurately presume your ways by the way you present yourself on your company forum, and the way you don't present yourself on other forums when the going gets tough.

Poseur, maybe you should make another thread.

Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for giving me my first listen to an A series sub. I must say that it sounded very good. I can see it deserved it's reputation (tonal quality). It is definitely one of the better overhung drivers I have heard.

BTW, I noticed your head unit had 8 volt preouts. Be careful on the gains. They might have been set conservatively for a reason.

*L* yea, well not a really decent audition musically. Wish I'd had better music. guess we could've grabbed something from inside, eH? Yep 8v pre-outs, and believe me that's been a HUGE source of contraversy with my latest debacle... I may not be the most knowledgeable kid on the block, but I do know enough not to have had one problem with a notoriously xmech limited sub that I've had for nearly a year. This amp, though was way way down, The deal there was that My amp had blown, and I'd tossed in my buddies last-minute before the trip. Didn't really have time to set gains, so I just left them ultra-conservative-low for the drive over the hills and forgot to really tune it more..

Anyway, yea, working on my new kicks. Seeing and hearing cool toys and such got me more motivated to get 'em rolling. Hopefully I can make 'em sound decent.

Look up eD phone # on eD site and call.

All are ways to get concerns answered.

Dealing with pissing matches all over the forums doesn't accomplish much. I won't even get involved in them anymore, and there were plenty to be found.

why try to startup another one and draw it out more then???

Matter of fact as long as I've got everyone's attenton again apparantly, Why were my cones and formers not returned to me? I'd specifically stated taht I realyl wanted to have a look at them for myself. Did they fear that someone else looking ath them wouldn't be able to find the supposed signs of sheer overpowering that were claimed???

THis is jsut getting silly, like I said, you're definately jsut beating a dead sheep. I'll be starting a new thread for information only. Perhaps the ones who aren't here to discuss thigns rationally should be banned from the forum like I was from eleentals? IN reality I don't truely think that alot of them could possibly have some good contributiosn to make if they ever pulled their head out of the flock.

I don't know why they weren't returned. Email Jeremy and ask; he'll take care of it.

Not here to talk about things rationally? Let's see: you claim the eDi motors are significantly smaller than the CDT. I show that very obviously they are not. Pretty cut and dry. Seth makes a couple digs at Ben. I say why he won't take the time to reply to the 10 different threads were the same 6 people say the same shit over and over again.

I'm not here talking about why the mids blew. I'm talking about the claim that the motors are smaller, which is clearly incorrect. It doesn't get much more rational than that.

So Chad, you are saying it is OK for Ben to dig at everyone else all over the internet, but no one can take shots at him? I am not taking shots anyways, I am clearly stating that he needs to come out and speak to the masses in a neutral setting, one where he has no controll over the information in the thread. I have seen him eliminate several posts in the past on SIN that were less than kind, and I know he jacked a ton of stuff on ICIX or whatever the hell he is hiding behind as his forum name. That is not a dig in any way shape or form... it is a statement that he needs to speak to those questioning his ethics... as they are extremely shaky.

Tell me, Seth, where Ben has made a dig at you?

To be honest, replying in those threads accomplishes NOTHING. Those who like Ben are more than content with what they read on ICIX, those who don't wouldn't like what he had to say anyways.

It really is that simple. A LOT of people like Ben and eD; a few don't. He can live with that. The v2 subs will speak for themselves; if they don't meet expectations, Ben isn't going to be around long. Based on my experiences with the demo 13Kv.2 I'm using, I think you might as well get used to eD being a constant source of irritation for y'all for quite some time to come.

Edit: This will be my last post on here. As usual, this thread is going nowhere. I corrected Poseur on the size of the eDi motors, and that is all I wanted.

I hope that's an idle threat... I think you were misunderstanding what Sandt38 was trying to convey.

It's much as you say, in fact - the V2 subs will speak for themselves... people like Sandt38 complain about this. They'd prefer that there wouldn't be controversy (or potential controversy) surrounding them, whether that be warranty-honoring issues, or buildhouse switching issues, or design issues, or any of a number of things that have always ended up being essentially unresolved - that is, no conclusion, or in other words "he said, she said"... customers and other involved parties saying one thing, with the Elemental official word being something to the contrary.
In the end, it doesn't matter what the "real" issue was (or wasn't)... the issue is, there was controversy surrounding it, and in the end it was unresolved.

So - the V2 subs will speak for themselves?
The issue that Sandt38 and others have been voicing is - no, they won't - they won't have the opportunity to - because in the event that any negative questioning were to arise about them, history tells us that path generally doesn't lead to an answer.... leaving you with religion - people that "believe" one way, or the other - all of them but a handful not having enough information to actually formulate an opinion on it -
...which I'd add is frustrating in cases like this - because I'd respectfully propose that you (and I) are both in the latter boat, not in the miniature circle of the enlightened, and therefore [hopefully] not formulating any opinion one way or the other on any one of these specific instances... but it seems understandable, coming through this history, that many might become wary, having born witness from the sidelines. ;)

So in the end - I simply plead with you to not get this frustrated, over an issue that by rights, neither you nor Sandt38 (nor many of us!) have all the information on. :detective:
    Peace! B)

Alright, well after alot of messing with aiming I've been through a couple strangely good spots, and back to wher eI prettymcuh initially had things setup. For anyone interested, Here's my kick progress thread again: http://www.msprotege.com/vbb225/showthread...37&page=1&pp=15
SO I'm finally ready to glass these things into place. Decided I wanted a raised lip around my speakermounting plate, and cameup with an interesting but promising technique for doing it. I stretched some speakercloth behind the back of my plate, then stapled down a thin piece of 1-1/4"wide balsawood around the perimiter. (I made the bends by soaking the balsa in water for a couple minutes) End result, MY speakers should be recessed enough to where I can make a flush-fitting grille. I've never really done anything like this before, so I guess we'll just have to see how it turns out.
