I work at a computer shop, we used to build alot of computers. Its very hard to make to much money building computers. Especially with quality components. We would make $150 - $250 on the hardware but after building/installing OS/ updating windows/installing antivirus the labor would easily eat the profit made with the hardware. Its easier for us to sell an HP buisness class machine for $800 make a good $250 profit and only have to run windows update, install norton, and update it. Plus the HP machine would be faster than anything we could build for the same price. It just makes more sense. Its alright to build a machine or two on the side in your house, but making a buisness out of it might not be feasible.
I am not doing anything as a full time business, I have a job that I enjoy dont need it My hobby is however building web sites and working on PC's I have been doing both for free for awhile now I am just trying to capitalize on it not trying to becomce rich off it that is for sure I would be happy with making $10 per unit not in it for the money really
