After getting geo's seal of approval I figured I had better check out the Koss Portapro headphones. For the $35 I paid at buy.com all I have to say is wow. I really didnt expect this quality for such lil $. They are really detailed. The low end is incredible as well. They are very comfortable as well. The ability to fold them up and put them in a bag is also pretty cool. My only complaint is that I realized I have better hearing out of my right ear than my left. Tried different sources and switched the headphones around to test. Ah well. For anyone looking to get a good sound quality reference for cheap I would have to suggest getting these.
I can't hear higher frequencies out of my right ear. Forever screwing up a perfect sound stage for me  I need a new pair of headphones; I'll have to check those out.
Those look nice I have These And I think they're pretty tough to beat for the price good stuff if you cant afford senheisers.
That sucks guy's I have an extreme sensitivity to higher frequencies I have my 3/4" silk cdt tweets (supposed to be super laid-back) -3 at the crossover and -6 or more at the eq and they still rip my ears of sometimes. dont you wish you had set of "golden ears"?

[/b][/quote] That's not too bad, depending on where i have my gains set i've had tweets attenuated as much as 10db's.
I have a pair of ksc-35's, same driver as the porta pros, but they don't look half as stupid . They're over the ear type things. Very nice indeed.
In picture they do look retarded. They dont look quite as bad in person. I couldnt really care about the looks though. Confort and sound is my main concern. I was going to get a grado 125 set but I figured I would work my way up
They really do sound nice. It is nice that you can fold them into a bag, but therein lies my only complaint... the metal headband that seemingly spring-contracts when you take it off... If you don't want to readjust your headband everytime you put it on, you could do what I did... I put a couple layers of scotch tape on the metal band, so the plastic piece had a bit of friction, so when I take them off, they'll stay fit to my head. I really did that to discourage my wife, if she heard them she'd never go back to the pair that came with her Phillips portable CD player. But seriously, I bought them after having read a review on www.goodcans.com about them, comparing them to a set of Grados that had beaten out some pair of Sennheisers, and the PortaPros came out on top. It's almost not a matter of "for a portable - they are great!" They really are just more unconditionally great. I thought I got a bargain at $45 for them... $35 and free shipping is ludicrously cheap. Everyone should have a pair at that price, seriously... Hmm... I'm picturing birthday gift for my wife... I can give her my old ones, and...
