Adire Vs. Id

In a few years, I plan on upgrading what I have to Adire or Image Dynamics. I know this forum is a little Adire biased, but wanted your opinions. The ID Max 10" is on sounddomain for $300. The Adire Brahma 10" is listed on soundfoundations for $330. I know someone that is running 1500 watts to a couple of Maxes and has not had a problem with it at all, even though they're rated at 1000. I plan on running 1500 watts to each sub, which ever one I choose. What I'm really after is sound quality, I haven't had the chance to hear either of these subs, and I don't live anywhere near any type of dealer of either, and don't know anyone personally who has one. So pretty much, I'm going off of what different people say, but either way, I'm sure I'll be happy. I'm getting 2 10s, of which ever I decide on, and its going to be forward firing under the backseat of an extended cab truck if that matters...All in all, considering price (even though its not a big difference), which one will sound the best with 1500 watts going to it? They will be in a sealed box, as size is an issue.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give!

The shop I work at is a dealer for both. Unfortunately I have only played with the 12" IDMAX. The differences to note are that the Max requires a larger enclosure than the Brahma, but is more efficient. Sound wise I felt the Max to be slightly more boomy.

Since you have the power, I recomend going with the Brahma. You can put them in tiny enclosures, and still have some pretty impressive output. Plus the SQ is the best on the market IMO.

Did he mention he works for Adire? ;)

I second the Brahma decision. Non-biased of course.

Partially biased, but my experiance is with 12 inch versions of each.

The ID does require a bigger enclosure, and I wouldn't run 1500 watts to one wide open. Being gain modest and enclosure smart are key here. Sealed, the Brahma will have output advantage, and enclosure size advantage as well. Not to mention, I am feeling safer slightly clipping 1500 to the Brahma, but no way on the Max. I prefer the warmth and transparency of the Brahma to the ID, but that is just me. Both are amazing drivers, neither will disapoint.

Where do you live? Maybe I have a customer, or know someone near you who might be willing to let you hear their gear.

If you want a reason to convert, hit me up. I'll make you an offer on the pair you woln't be able to refuse.

It boils down to whether you want a punchy sub (IDMAX) or a low-end monster (Brahma). I'm a huge fan of ID, but i wouldn't trust running 1500w to a single IDMAX. I'll vote for the Brahma in this case as well.

I live in South Texas, near Corpus Christi. I'm not ready to switch out yet. I need new everything, and I don't have the money to do it right now. Everything as in amps, box, subs, batteries. Speaking of which, besides the magic 3, 2 yellow tops, it would probably be necessary to get a better alternator correct? Especially if I'm running 3k RMS on just subs, and probably another 700ish on components...What's a good site to get them? mralternator and ohio are really the only companies that I know of online...any advice?
Sandt38, thanks for the offer, if you're still here in a couple of years I'll be sure to take you up on it.
And thanks everyone for the replies...I'm leaning towards the brahma...

I'll be moving up to more central Texas later this year, I might see if I can get into contact with him.
Is there any other recommendations of other brands that compare to Adire and ID in price and performance(1500 watts...around $300)
I don't like JL or ED, I've heard both, the JL is nice, but way too expensive...didn't like the sound of the ED

lol, yeah, i probably wouldn't have named it XXX
they should just call it porn...its easier to say, and if you search for it, you find the same thing...
thanks a lot, youve been a great help

How good is the RE vs. the Adire?
I notice it has 4mm more x-mas and the same motor...any big differences there?

different motors actually...xbl2 is just a motor design. its kinda like saying "v8" or "inline 6", rather than saying that its a specific motor. the adire is supposedly more focused on sq, the re on output. i dont have golden ears, so take this with a grain of salt, but im sure theyre very similar, as im sure at least one or two other people will tell you.
