Definitely, all the American Pie ones were a good laugh, even if the first two were essentially the same jokes over again, they did them in a way that still caught you by surprise, and then made you laugh in a different way, which I actually thought was cool about the movies. And American Wedding we're going to buy also, that was like... should have been titled "Stifler's Salvation".

Monty Python's "Holy Grail" and "Life of Brian"... literally comedy genious, in the same brush strokes that lay out it's absolutely silly and rediculous humor. You can't watch them enough, because every time you do, you catch another bit of hidden humor, either visually or in the script, in the background, or something you just didn't catch before. Every time.
But let's not go there, 'tis a silly place.

I grew up on the "Brat Pack" movies too...
I actually haven't seen Fast Times at Ridgemont High... or used cars..... hmm...

Used Cars may be understandable, but Fast Times? OMG Chris. You MUST go rent it this minute!!! This is the only comedy I would add to my top 10 movies of all times.

If for no other reason then we get to see Pheobe Cates topless

But seriously, the cast of charachters would blow your mind. It was Nicholas Cage's (at this time he still went by "Nicholas Coppola") first ever roll in hollywood, as brief as it was. This is classic, priceless comedy. Even if you hate Sean Penn, you will love him after watching this movie.

As far as Wedding, I never saw it. I am going to get it, but I just never saw it at the show. It was gone in like 2 weeks :( .

Good discussion on movies. Surprised at how many people shar some of my views. I too am a Comedy/Drama man. They are my favorite movies but I can enjoy a good special effect and/or pointless action flick.

I share my views of LOTR with geo. It just isnt a stand alone movie. It took me 3 tries to watch the movie. Kept turning it off to go do something else due to lack on interest.

Matrix was great. Perfect blend of story and special effects IMO. The second one continued in hope of a great story but left me wondering where the thinking went. Special effects and a confusing ending kept me interested in the third. The third was even more disappointing. Same special effects. Poor wrap up of the story. While I was glad the story continued I hated the way they ended it. Seemed pretty much an excuse for everyone to make more money.

Classic comedies are great. Gotta love Ferris Bueler's Day Off.
