I have never been in a really loud car, and I was wondering if any of ya'll would be able to tell me what it would be like to be in a car that hit 150 db (blurry vision... etc.)?

the biggest thing i noticed at 145-150 dB (at the headrest mind you...on a LinX calibrated to read like the Tlabs) was the fact that it was hard to breathe, and you could NOT talk. i was trying to yell, but couldnt manage to make any noise.

What if you got a girl to lie in the trunk with her crotch an inch away from the sub and started blasting test tones.........

    Can you say multiple orgasms?
Or have I been watching Private Parts too long?

I still think the girl would be more grateful if you presented her with the Aura Bass-Shaker equipped g-string.

None of that listening-space air to get in the way. ;)

:D 150 at the head on linearX / calibrated like a TL is pretty damn loud...its much like getting squished from every direction...like nismo said..you can't yell over it..and no you can't be heard on the inside of the vehical...you can't hear yourself at all...its difficult to breath...some people find it hard to swallow when its going...some literally can NOT take it and have to get out from the intense and sometimes overwhelming push on the head and lungs...

Its kinda rough... :lmfao: and I can hear better than most people can...

it feels like i have someone 3 times the size of me sitting on my chest :jawdrop:

almost like riding the gravitron at the carnival...it is actually hard to get up and out the seat

thats 151db's, termlab, music not tones

makes you laugh when the newbs think you have to be in the mid 50's to be loud....145db's is more than enough to push your hair back and change your voice

145 is very nice and comfortably loud.

If they weren't a competitor, 145 would be loud enough to make anyone giggle, just for pure show-off value.. It's loud.

For a sound quality car that could do hearing damage it could get so loud, you wouldn't even need to get up to 140dB.

Even 140 is too high for SQ.... Honestly you'd want around 130 or less, unless you had a completely awesome front stage that could somehow keep up with that much bass (and still be staged right)

You'd want fronts that could play cleanly down to 40 hz (some smaller subs playing midbass) or so... and get great SQ subs that could go down as low as possible...

But of course Geo you know all this.... for some strange reason I just felt like saying it

    All I'll say is...
...yes, it does sound damn poweful and moving when the thing is cranked up so loud, driving around at night, that you can see the pulsating throbs of light coming through the cracks around the power window buttons as the tweeter protection light bulbs built into the component set crossovers are suddenly and dramatically given a purpose for existance...

...the kind of loudness that you become so engrossed in and accustomed to that when you turn the volume back down, the silence shocks you more than the loudness did.

    Rock on, baby... B)
