    http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_37765_U.S.-Amps-XA-800.4.html

I just bought this amp originally planning to run four JL-TR525CXi

after putting the first two in and testing the amp out i realized that the speakers sound ten times better than my jeep stockers but are still lacking a in the bass area..(duh 5.25).....so i am now if possible gonna Bridge channel 3 and 4 for a single 8 inch JL Sub......my question is, what ohm rating must the sub be for my best results?....i dont really under stand the whole ohm thing....

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

4 Ohm? I'm thinking this is correct because it say bridge x2 for 160w@4ohm........nvm I think I got it!

It does look like you can only put a 4ohm load to that amp if you bridge 2 of the channels. So "IF" that is correct, and if you're only going to run 1 sub, what I would do is get a 2ohm dvc sub and wire it in series. That will give you a 4ohm load to the amp.

thanks! bookmarked! any specific benefit with going with a 2 ohm in series? why not just a 4 ohm sub?

Basically because you should get a dvc sub in-case you want to upgrade to 2 subs down the road. Look at all of the wiring diagrams and try to make sense of them. There are more ways to wire a dvc sub so it gives you a lot more options. You can't wire a 4ohm dvc sub to a 4ohm load. If you wire it in series you'll get an 8ohm load and if you wire it parallel you'll get a 2ohm load.

A bumpin postal jeep! Awesome!!! Ok, then yes, you can use a 4ohm svc sub to get a 4ohm load. Still think you'll be happier down the road with a dvc though.:)
