Hi guys, newbie here w/ the first post.I currently have a single Kicker CVX12-4 in a kicker box.Sounds Great.Doors are Pioneers TS-A6882R 4 ways w/ a Kenwood KDC-X791 deck.Last month I applied sound deadening to the doors & rear hatch(Quick Roof) & have just acquired another CVX12-4 so now I need another box.I am going to build one since $ tight & work is slow.Ranger SVO post has good info & I will be following his tips.Current woofer is rear facing.Does anyone have a simple vented box plan for two CVX facing up?Is this a good idea?I ask this because its stuff always ends up against the box, that's why I had put a grill to keep my woofer intact. Thanks for your help.
    Juan Gonzalez.

I have a Power Accoustik Gothic series OVNI-4000D.Woofers will be run at 1 ohm.I the old amp should do fine.I measured the back of Explorer & I actually have 30"length X 18" or 20" depth & 18" to 20" height available.Would a side port be better or a center port?

Man, i hope aznboi can chime in here. He had an explorer before and he's had several boxes in his explorer. I'm sure he would have a design for a box for you...

Personally i tend to like side ports then a center port/vent. If i remember correctly, aznboi always had his subs firing to the rear with port to the rear.

I have an expedition and I found that i get the best results that way too.

subs up ports back work well. since you dont want anything hitting the subs.

Good to hear,I was thinking if I go little wider like 21" I probably can stagger the woofers to save up some length in the box & better the port.Do you guys think this would fly? This is one project I cant wait to tackle.:D

why not go as wide as you can so the box is wedged in between the wheel wells.

mine is like that. it dont move a bit.

cant the stroller fit sideways tho?

my last enclosure with 4 8's was only 13 deep x 38.8 wide x 18 tall. leaving me tons of room back there.

Yeah, that's in my expedition... It's a very big box though. takes up a lot of space especially for 2 12's. hit's hard!!

:(One nice box Ranger SVO,but I think something like that is a little out of my
reach, since this will be the first box.Looking to do more of a rectangular one.You know,a plane Jane that still sounds good.I don't think I'll be carpeting it,will be using bed liner.I like that look. Can any one throw out any box measurements for my 2 CVX's?

Ranger is your man.. He can help you design a box for you. He's been an installer for ages.. aznboi is also a designer.. hopefully one of the two can help you out with a box for your exploder. aznboi designed my box for me. :)

are you planning on using the roll on or spray on bed liner?
