Hi, I am Ranger's sister and have decided to build a box. I got his advice on the dimensions and how to build it. I like to draw everything out on graph paper first before I cut out the pieces.

I first put it together without glue so that I could make sure that it fit in the Jetta that it was going into. This box is going to be for my son's car.

I then took it apart and put it back together with the sealant. Since this is a ported box, I also cut out the ports.

I attached the ports to the baffle board.

I am still working on the box, but thought I would share what I have so far.

I have put the box together. I decided to try spray on truck bedliner, but I do like it. I do like the texture, but I do not like the look. I thought the stuff would go on thicker and hide the screws. I realize now that for it to look good, I would have to put a filler over each screw, and I probably should have used a primer.

I will go with carpet. I guess I better like that since the adhesive will make it permanent.

yeah I tried the exact same thing on my new box and I used like 4 cans but it still doesn't look right so I am going to carpet it to. lol.

looks good...I would not suggest using primer on MDF...it will take a LLLLOOOONNNNNGGGGG time and MMMMAANNNNNYYYYYY coats.

Sanding sealer will do much better in just a couple coats.

I went on vacation and am a bit slow, but I have finished covering the box.

Now I need to know how to do the wiring. I bought two DVC 12" JBL subwoofers. This will use the 2-channel 75W amplifier that he already has. Right now he has his tweeters using one channel. I don't know if the tweeters need an amplifier or if they can be wired differently. If the tweeters can be wired differently, then I think I should use the first diagram below for wiring, but otherwise I think the second will be the correct way.

Which is correct? or am I totally wrong?

The second picture is right as far as the woofers go. But the wiring to the amp needs to be corrected.

I beleive that its Left + and Right -
