find out what a rebuild kit costs, then see what a new motor costs from a salvage yard. both are pretty reasonable i think.

don't rebuild it. it may cost way too much to do that. you should try to look in some salvage yards to find another engine or.... just sell it and look for another car.

a rebuild kit at northern autoparts are like 75 bucks here.

i think a salvage yard engine swap may be in order.........or.

back in 94 i had to have my engine rebuilt. i was able to finance it through the shop. engine labs was the name. maybe your town has a shop that can do the same?

the labor may kill him though. how much would he labor be for a rebuild?

the labor is a G ($1,000 just in case) which is more than half of what I paid for the car. How much you think I could sell it for?

i meant for him to do it... but then again, not everyone can do it... i would get a engine out of the yard. swap it for like the fancier motor. i might of found a job that involves the same thing, only in a cavalier.

i sure as hell couldn't do that. I know a little about engines but i don't think i could rebuild one although i've never tried either. lol

i have been around it all my life, i was like 10 the first time i hlped put a motor in the jag and iwas able to tear down an engine well be fore that. my dad is a deisle mechanic and i am very dedicated to learning about all of it so i do extensive research ALL THE TIME! the motor for the cut will be the first one i will design and assemble alone though.

no u dont. learn to do it as a hobby, not a profession. it dont pay for ish and it sucks when u have to do it everyday and all day! if u wanna learn it aint that hard. go to summitracing.com and order a catalog. then read it every time u go to take a dump. ull pick up on it. then just search around on the net about building motors and stuff like that, power combos, etc...

good advice pedro. i really don't think my back could handle it doing it all day all the time. You're right. I should order a catalog, I always wanted to learn about that.
