I have the three.1 in the dash now. I just got a few questions about it cuz i don't want to fry my gear.

    Sub level:
Since i didn't use my sub preout on the JVC HU I have it going through here. Is this just the same as it would be on the headunit or is this kinda like a bass boost?

    Gain:
what should i be doing with this? should i keep it all the way down? what does it change as far as amp settings if I use this?

    Sweep:
Currently I have the sweep set at the lowest (40hz) is this advisable? what should the correct setting be?

Lastly, how do you know when you are clipping a sub? the highest I had the sub level up was less than half way. If i put it all the way down i don't get any sub at all. My nine.1 gain is set at less than 1/4. from a scale to 1 to 10 the setting is a little less than 3.

I still haven't but a DMM to it (haven't had the time) and I can't do it at my house cuz my neighbors would get ****ed! lol I'll set it with a DMM probably this weekend.

hope you guys could shed a little light on this.

i think gain and sweep go with the sub out. so sweep looks like it crossover, and gain well that should be self explainable.

so turn the gain on the sub amp down and play with the gain on the 3.1.

maybe use the crossover in the dash to fine tune the sub too. if you can turn the crossover in the amp off.

i use my heads sub crossover instead of the amps. 80hz at 18 db per oct sounds the best in mine.

    Thanks again pedro.

right now, i have the crossover in the amp on and I play with my crossover on the three.1 as well. is that ok? I'm just a little scared with the sub level, i don't want to break anything.

I'll give it a shot. my gain is only set on #2 though. Any lower and I won't have any gain on the amp. lol

Hopefully towards the end of the week i'll have a lot more time to mess around with it.

when i had my PG eq my M44 amp was only set on less than 1/4 and my sub was jumping. that was only 8v you have 13v. you should be able to have it all the way down with a full signal.

It did say 13v max. How do I check how many volts i'm getting at the amp?
