i recently installed a pioneer deh-7900bt head unit in my 98 expedition i replaced a jensen dvd/cd player i have an mtx8100d running 2 kicker comp's i had no problems running the jensen with my amp and subs, but as soon as i hooked up the pioneer the amp/subs made all kinds of noise. the radio was turned down all the way and it still made noise i turned the gain on my amp down but it doesnt hit hard or sound nearly as goods as when i had my old headunit hooked up do you have any advice or suggestions why this is happening? should i ground my headunit directly to my car and not to the factory wiring harness?
Yes you have to ground your headunit to the car, shiny metal if possible. The factory ground in the dash will have all kinds of interference. Welcome by the way!!
