My buddy has an '05 ALtima (2.5S), he wants somehow to have aux inputs but without an FM modulator (doesn't like the sound quality) Anyone have any suggestions without getting a new radio?

If the factory player doesn't have auxiliary inputs than I don't see how your friend is gonna go about this

Peripheral Electronics make an Aux In Interface for the 05-06 Altima. I think you want part # PXNI

No not really, I'm just old and tired. There is another company that makes aux interfaces, I cannot remember who it was. Thought it was American International.

PAC Audio is another company that makes an AUX input. The part # is AAI-NIS2. It will be very similar to the Peripheral part.

I still cannot find anything from American Internation, this is bothering me. I wonder if Soundgate also makes an Aux In for Nissan.

Dodge tends to be a problem. 05 makes it more interesting. First is your radio CANBUS (google it), if so I don't know whats available. I have not had to deal with these yet (other than replacing them)

If its non CANBUS and the radio says "DISC" on preset 1, then we are in business. Peripheral definately make an interface. PAC also may make an interface.

Now back to CANBUS, these radios have model numbers REF, REC and I dont remember the rest. If you do a little research and discover anything let me know.

it does say disc on preset 1.

i may just put my pioneer 7800 in it.(the one with the bad rca out's) it has an aux in for anything with a headphone out.would probly be cheaper than the pac or Peripheral

an install kit and wire kit cant cost more than 35.

Then you should have no problem adding an aux in. The main thing is that the radio needs to be a changer controller. The changer controls is what will actually control the Ipod. In my opinion the Pioneer is a better choice. I just added Ipod to my wifes car and it was plug and play.

And jibit, thanks, never been called awesome before. Most of the aux inputs I've used have RCA ins. The only other thing you'll need will be a 1/8 stereo jack to RCA cable. that should be easy to find

yeah, actually have one from an old cd player I used to connect to my home stereo (over 15 years ago, jeez I'm getting old ). I think Radio Shack sells them. Thanks again!
